Prostate cancer, the most malignant tumour in men, annually causes 1.400 deaths in Switzerland, 360.000 fatalities worldwide. The global incidence of prostate cancer is rising. Every year, more than 1.2 million men are diagnosed.
The Advanced Prostate Cancer Society (APC) is a non-profit organisation that aims to improve the treatment and care of men with advanced prostate cancer. The society organises the Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC) and is the legal representative of APCCC based in Bellinzona, Ticino, Switzerland in Via Vincenzo Vela 6.
The Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC) was initiated to provide a forum to discuss and debate current questions on the clinical management of men with advanced prostate cancer, with a special focus on these unclear situations. The conference is dedicated to high-level presentations, discussions, and debates to summarize and conceptualize the available literature and evidence.
World interdisciplinary expert panel (Panel Members) vote on consensus questions targeting areas of clinical relevance prior the APCCC conference. After the conference, panellists co-author a manuscript that summarises these questions and recommendations which is published in a peer-reviewed journal.
